PITTSBURGH, Pa.   Veteran designated hitter Marcell Ozuna has officially found a new home, signing with the Pittsburgh Pirates after spending six seasons with the Atlanta Braves. The move marks the end of a memorable chapter in Atlanta and gives Pittsburgh an experienced power bat as it looks to strengthen its lineup for the 2026 season.

Ozuna joins the Pirates on a one-year contract worth $12 million, with a mutual option for the 2027 season. The agreement follows months of speculation regarding his future after he entered free agency at the conclusion of his time with the Braves.

The 35-year-old slugger leaves Atlanta having established himself as one of the club’s most productive offensive players during his tenure.
