THIS IS BIG: Kentucky to Land Another New Weapon as Mark Pope Turns Up the Heat on Elite Recruit

Big Blue Nation has another reason to keep a close eye on the recruiting trail.

Kentucky basketball continues to pursue elite talent for the future, and Mark Pope’s recruiting operation is showing no signs of slowing down.

The Wildcats are targeting several highly regarded prospects in the 2027 class, creating the possibility of another major addition to Kentucky’s future roster.

One name generating significant attention is five-star wing DeMarcus Henry, a 6-foot-7 prospect ranked No. 3 overall in the Rivals Industry Ranking. Kentucky is among the programs pursuing Henry, with Pope having made multiple in-person recruiting efforts.

But Kentucky’s recruiting board goes much deeper.

The Wildcats are also firmly involved with five-star shooting guard Adan Diggs, who is scheduled to make an official visit to Lexington on October 22–23. Diggs is ranked No. 5 overall by the Rivals Industry Ranking and is regarded as the top shooting guard in the 2027 class by several major recruiting services.

That visit could become an important moment for Kentucky as Pope continues trying to build relationships with the nation’s elite prospects.

And then there is the frontcourt.

Kentucky has also been involved in the recruitment of Paul Osaruyi, a highly regarded 6-foot-10 prospect who has drawn interest from several major programs. The Wildcats are also pursuing Cherif Millogo, a 7-foot-4 center who has emerged as another intriguing option for the 2027 class.

THE MESSAGE FROM LEXINGTON IS CLEAR

Kentucky isn’t simply looking for another player.

The Wildcats are searching for pieces who can eventually bring size, scoring, athleticism and versatility to the roster.

If Pope can turn one or more of these recruiting battles into commitments, Kentucky could add another significant weapon to an already ambitious long-term roster-building plan.

For now, no commitment has been finalized, and the recruitment of these prospects remains ongoing.

But Kentucky fans have every reason to keep watching.
