According to Bleacher Report’s Zachary D. Rymer, Seattle is in an ideal position to make a major move for Arizona Diamondbacks star Ketel Marte, a three-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger who is owed $116.5 million.

Rymer notes that despite Marte’s accolades, reports surfaced during the summer that his approach to rest days frustrated some teammates. Now 32 and set to gain 10-and-5 rights next April, he profiles as a strong sell-high candidate for Arizona.

“The perfect deal for the Diamondbacks would net established or MLB-ready arms to bolster their struggling rotation, along with a right-handed corner-infield bat… Prediction: Traded to Mariners,” Rymer wrote.

Marte is coming off a standout season in which he hit .283/.376/.517/.893 with 28 doubles, 28 homers, and 72 RBI across 126 games. Adding him to a lineup featuring Cal Raleigh, Julio Rodríguez, Josh Naylor, and Randy Arozarena could transform Seattle into one of the American League’s most dangerous offenses.
