As the Auburn Tigers look to snap a four-year losing streak in 2025, the pressure is on to turn things around. Avoiding a fifth straight losing season—which would match the program’s longest stretch since 1946–1950—will likely hinge on offensive improvement. To make a bowl game, post a winning record, and potentially secure Hugh Freeze’s job, Auburn’s offense must perform at a high level.
While rising stars Cam Coleman and Malcolm Simmons give the receiving corps promise, the Tigers needed an experienced playmaker to fill the void left by KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who moved on to the next level.
Enter Eric Singleton Jr., a major addition from the winter transfer portal and arguably the top receiver available. The former Georgia Tech standout joins Auburn with two years of eligibility and a proven résumé. Over two seasons with the Yellow Jackets, Singleton tallied 104 catches for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns, along with 140 rushing yards and another score. He led Georgia Tech in receiving yards and touchdowns in both years.

Singleton’s sophomore campaign was especially impressive, notching career highs with 56 receptions for 754 yards and three receiving touchdowns. He also added 131 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
His performance caught national attention—ESPN’s Max Olson ranked him as the top wide receiver and the No. 6 overall player in the final transfer portal rankings for 2025. Olson noted Singleton is expected to be heavily targeted in Auburn’s offense and could position himself as a 2026 first-round NFL Draft pick.
Singleton is chasing a rare feat: becoming the first Auburn wide receiver selected in the first round since Terry Beasley in 1972. With scouts already buzzing, the Tigers may finally have a game-breaking threat capable of ending that decades-long drought.
