We’ll Get There”: Bryce Harper Fires Up Phillies Fans After Shaky Start
Bryce Harper shared a short but reassuring message with Philadelphia Phillies fans after the team’s underwhelming series against the Texas Rangers. The Phillies opened their season with a 1–2 record, a result that has sparked some early frustration, but Harper made it clear there’s no reason to panic this early in the campaign.
Speaking after the series, Harper remained composed and optimistic about both his performance and the team’s direction. He explained that his at-bats were solid overall, even if the results didn’t fully reflect it, and emphasized that the season is still in its infancy. His calm three-word message — essentially assuring that the team will find its groove — served as a steadying voice amid the early noise.
While fans may be uneasy about the slow start, Harper’s confidence carries weight. A 1–2 record, or even a slightly worse opening stretch, is far from uncommon over the course of a long MLB season. Still, expectations are high in Philadelphia, especially with a roster built to contend, which is why any stumble — no matter how early — tends to draw attention.

There have also been lingering questions surrounding Harper following a relatively quiet season last year. Phillies president Dave Dombrowski even acknowledged months ago that the team would need Harper to return to peak form. So far, however, there are signs that he is trending in the right direction.
Despite the team’s struggles against Texas, Harper did not look overmatched. He worked quality at-bats, drew two walks, and showed improved timing at the plate as the series progressed. In the finale — an 8–3 loss — he appeared more comfortable and disciplined, hinting that a breakout performance may not be far off.
For now, the message from Harper is simple: stay patient. With the season just getting underway, the Phillies still have plenty of time to settle in, find consistency, and play up to their potential.
