One area the St. Louis Blues should focus on strengthening this offseason is their depth at center, particularly on the third line. To address this, they could look toward some intriguing options in free agency.
One name that stands out is Carolina Hurricanes forward Jack Roslovic, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Roslovic could be a smart target for the Blues, given his consistent offensive production. This past season, he tallied 22 goals and 39 points over 81 games for the Hurricanes. Throughout his career, he’s also reached the 40-point mark twice, showcasing solid scoring ability.
Adding Roslovic would help bolster the Blues’ third line and enhance their second power-play unit. Standing at 6-foot-1, the former first-round pick from 2015 also brings positional flexibility, being capable of playing both center and wing — a quality that increases his value.
Overall, signing Roslovic on a short-term, budget-friendly contract could prove to be a valuable move for the Blues. It will be interesting to see if the team decides to pursue him as free agency opens.
