Josh Allen Makes a Strong Impression on First Day Back With the Bills

By Anne Erickson

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen turned heads during his return to the team this week for Organized Team Activities (OTAs). With the 2025 NFL season on the horizon, the Bills are focused on a Super Bowl run, and Allen is already making his presence felt both on and off the field.

Despite being busy with wedding preparations, Allen joined the Bills for OTAs, showing his dedication to the team. His appearance underscored his commitment as 20 NFL teams began OTAs on Tuesday, May 27, with five more joining on Wednesday.

Allen quickly drew praise in social media posts shared by the Bills, where he was seen in his red No. 17 jersey looking sharp. The team posted photos captioned “Vinsanity,” sparking excitement from fans. One clip showed Allen throwing a pass that got fans buzzing, with comments like “2nd MVP season on the way” and “I believe you mean MVP.”

Adding to the excitement, Allen was also pictured with partial team owner and NBA legend Vince Carter, which stirred plenty of fan commentary. Remarks included praise like, “Vince Carter partly owns my football team. That gets me going,” and comparisons such as “Half man, half amazing—it’s only right for him to be with the football version.”

Allen Ranked NFL’s Top Quarterback Heading Into 2025

Already the reigning MVP, Allen enters the 2025 season with strong momentum. In a recent Bleacher Report article (May 7), NFL analyst Brad Gagnon named Allen the No. 1 quarterback in the league.

Gagnon acknowledged that while Allen hasn’t yet won a Super Bowl, “it still feels like it’s only a matter of time for the 2024 MVP.” He noted that Allen has been “consistently spectacular” for the past five seasons and ranks as the most valuable player in the league since 2020, according to Pro Football Reference’s Approximate Value metric—surpassing even Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.

Although Gagnon sees Jackson as a more explosive runner, he highlighted Allen’s impressive 65 career rushing touchdowns—nearly double Jackson’s 33.

While Allen edges out Jackson in Gagnon’s current rankings, the analyst emphasized that the race for the top spot is tight heading into the 2025 season, calling it “an open competition.”
