JUST IN: Major Announcement regarding Dylan Holloway undisclosed surgery

Dylan Holloway Expected to Be Fully Recovered for Training Camp After Surgery

The St. Louis Blues overcame significant challenges this season, managing not only to secure a playoff berth but also to push the top-seeded Winnipeg Jets to a seven-game series in the first round.

One of those challenges was a late-season injury to forward Dylan Holloway. Though the team never disclosed the exact nature of the injury, it occurred during an April 3 game when Holloway took a hit from Pittsburgh Penguins rookie Rutger McGroarty and left the ice.

On Tuesday, Blues general manager Doug Armstrong confirmed that Holloway had undergone surgery for the injury. While the extent of the issue was initially underestimated, Armstrong reassured fans that the young forward is on track to be ready for the start of training camp.

“We didn’t think it was going to be that serious, but he needed to have something taken care of,” Armstrong explained. “He’ll be 100 percent by camp.”

Before his injury, Holloway appeared in all 77 games he was available for and ranked among the team’s top offensive contributors. His 63 points (26 goals, 37 assists) trailed only Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou on the roster.

St Louis Blues v Pittsburgh Penguins

Holloway joined the Blues last summer via an offer sheet, alongside defenseman Philip Broberg, after their former team, the Edmonton Oilers, declined to match due to cap constraints.

Drafted 14th overall in 2020, Holloway never found his footing in Edmonton, where he played 89 games over two seasons with limited ice time and modest production (9 goals, 9 assists). His breakout season in St. Louis has shown why he was a first-round pick, and his future with the Blues looks promising as he continues to grow and develop.
